6 Months
Well, today being April 18th, we now have exactly 6 months until I am officially Mrs. Blair. How about that.
I can remember telling Paul 6 months ago that we had exactly 1 year. That didn’t feel like 6 months. I’m guessing the next 6 won’t either. So – here’s to a quick summer and my wedding day.
I’d have to say that for still having 6 months until the wedding, I’ve got everything pretty much under control. Aside from the now non-existent rehearsal dinner we’re trying to figure out, everything else is set.
Deposits are paid on almost everything (expect the rentals, which isn’t a big deal), the dress is purchased, the bridesmaids dresses will be ordered in a few weeks, all the little details are worked out. I went and put the deposit on the cake last week and that was the last major contract item.
I booked our plane tickets for our honeymoon the other day. That was exciting. I also booked our shore excursions (St. Marteen, St. Kitts, St. Lucia). Very exciting. We’ll be having creole lunches on catamarans, floating around on beach floats in crystal clear water, kayaking turquoise blue water… And, we figured out that we technically won’t have to stay at a hotel at all inbetween the flights and cruise, which is awesome. We fly out late Sunday night, the 19th, we’ll have about 2 hours to putz around in Ft. Lauderdale before we board the ship (which the cruise lady I talked to the other day told me we have VIP check-in and won’t even have to stand in line – how cool is that). When we get back, we’ll go straight to the airport and arrive back here late Tuesday night (the 28th). And I have to say, I’m getting smarter in my old age. There were 2 separate departing flights after our cruise gets back that put us in Burbank at the same time that night, but either gave us a bit of a wait in Ft. Lauderdale, or a longer layover in New York (whenever we go to the east coast, we like to stop in NY and sit on the benches and watch the crazy New Yorkers drive by, it’s one of our passions, ha-ha). I was opting for the longer layover in NY, obviously, but that flight left FLL much earlier than the other one. Luckily, I decided to call and find out exactly what time we would be physically off the ship, even though it docks at 8 a.m. Well it’s not until about 11, and the first flight was 11:45 – so, we’ll be leaving on the later flight. We still get to stop in NY though. =)
What else – tomorrow me, Paul and Keeshunna (coordinator) are going up to E’s house to get measurements, etc. before we go the rental place. I’m really crossing my fingers that everything I want to do will actually fit. We shall see.
